The President of the Council, Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé granted a hearing to Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Togo on Friday, 23 October 2026.
Mrs Shahinaz Mahmoud Mohamed Abuseri gave the President of the Council an update on the partnership between Lomé and Cairo and the prospects for areas of common interest.
“With the President of the Council, we have addressed the most important issues concerning relations between our two countries, as well as ways to strengthen this bilateral partnership,” said the Egyptian diplomat.
Trade has also brought together several priority areas of cooperation, including economic development, trade promotion, medicine and the pharmaceutical industry.
These sectors are important levers for deepening bilateral cooperation and fostering new partnership opportunities.
This meeting is part of the common will of Togo and Egypt to strengthen their relations of friendship and cooperation. It illustrates the commitment of the leaders of both countries to diplomatic dialogue and the consolidation of a mutually beneficial partnership.
Togo and Egypt have excellent relations of friendship and cooperation, which have gradually strengthened and diversified in several areas with high economic and social impact, including agrobusiness, the economy, business, health, infrastructure and training.
